Susan Melinda Chavez

February 20, 1944 - August 4, 2024

Fair Oaks, California - Susan Melinda Chavez passed away peacefully on August 4, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on February 20, 1944, Susan was a cherished member of the community, known for her loving nature and dedication to her family.

Susan was a proud graduate of El Camino High School and furthered her education at Long Beach State. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and operate a local furniture store for many years.

A devoted mother and wife, Susan's family was the center of her world. She found joy in spoiling her grandchildren, camping at Folsom Lake, traveling around the world, and enjoying sunny days poolside at her Fair Oaks home, overlooking the American River.

Susan is survived by her husband, John; children, Mindy, Mercedes, and John; grandchildren, Michael, Katey, Ava, Anthony, Jack, Luke, Cole and Grace; great-grandson, Beau; and sisters, Carol Caldwell and Kimberly Wosnuk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn and Douglas Caldwell.

A service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 9079 Greenback Ln., Orangevale, CA 95662, on Wednesday, August 28th at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service, where family and friends can share memories and honor Susan's legacy.
